Overview of Article

I think this article is important to the study we are currently going over as it represents just how far Indian film has come and India as a country and culture in the opinions of the western Europe in particular and America. It focuses on Slumdogs success which is not only a success for better representation and understanding of India but also for British Asians.

- Asians no longer being considered "the other" in this day and age because films like Slumdog give the west a better understanding of what goes on, turns ignorance into sympathy

- In comparison film also shows bad aspects of India especially the poorer parts showing poverty and violence in its worst form. This backs up what we have been studying about India in the past so it shows these bad things in India still happen in the 21st century and that's why it is significant to our study.
